S&C Asia Pacific Team Helps Boost Conservation at Community Parkland

Volunteers at Taylor Park

CHICAGO, February 26, 2025 S&C Electric Company, a leading innovator of resilient grid technology, demonstrated its commitment to supporting local environmental initiatives and its core principle of responsible stewardship with a volunteer effort at Taylor Park, a parkland reserve in Torquay near Melbourne, Australia.

In early February, team members from the company’s Asia Pacific office concentrated on watering and fixing the stakes around the plants across the reserve following a period of hot weather. This effort aims to maintain the area and ensure park visitors have a pleasant experience.

S&C also made a financial donation as part of its commitment to responsible stewardship to support the conservation efforts and ensure the park stays at its existing size.

S&C Volunteers watering and fixing the stakes around plants

"A huge thank you to S&C Electric Company for their incredible support at Taylor Park in Torquay, Victoria. Having 25 of their team helping with watering, weeding, repairing plant guards, and tidying up made a massive difference. They distributed over 1,200 liters of water to plants and carried out repairs around the 27 acres (10.9 hectares) of the park. They also weeded in the sand dunes,” said Ian Convery, group coordinator at Friends of Taylor Park.

“It’s fantastic to see businesses with ESG commitments connecting with regional environmental communities like ours. Every bit helps, and we truly appreciate S&C’s generosity, including their sizeable donation toward preserving the fauna and flora of the park. Thank you for making a real impact,” he added.

“The park relies solely on volunteers to upkeep the area, “ said Jason Lander, Vice President Asia Pacific of S&C. “With the efforts and time our team members took alongside these volunteers, we were able to make a big difference in just one day.”
